Thank You For Stopping By & Saying Hi
Thank you to all that stopped by and said hi during my showing at the Hunter Wolff Art Gallery for Friday Art walk, and for checking out my hand inlay demo, for the Aspen on the Avenues event. I had a great time demonstrating the art of hand inlay. I hope to have some more events added to the calendar for 2020 very soon, so stay tuned.
This Months Featured Project
Built-in Cabinets with Copper and a Model Train
This month’s featured projects is a project I finished up this summer, a bank of built-in cabinets with live edge slabs, and floating shelves for a client’s home office in Evergreen Colorado.
The client was looking for something unique that would stand out as a piece of art. Their main requirements from the initial design meeting were. They liked dark woods. They wanted a live edge slab element and to incorporate some kind of metal.
One of the coolest things was to incorporate the client’s model train from his childhood into the design.
You can see more completion pictures and find out more about how this project was created on my website.
Last Month On My YouTube Channel
This month’s featured YouTube video is the sawhorses I built for the Aspen on the Avenue event.
When I agreed to do a hand inlay demo for this event, I quickly realized that I did not have a proper workbench that was mobile enough for me to take to the gallery. The plastic sawhorses I have are just too bouncy to chisel on, so I came up with this design.
It has a little bit of my favorite joinery and is rock solid with all the creature comforts of a workbench in a mobile design.
It drew just as much interest as the inlay I was working on, so I’m calling it a success.
